PÔLE OVIN LAIT – OS ROLP / CDEO: The Pyrénées Dairy Sheep Breeds Organization (selection body) and the Departmental Sheep Farming Center (performance recording and livestock advisory services) are committed to preserving, improving and developing the three dairy sheep breeds of the Pyrénées: Basco-Béarnaise, Manech Tête Rousse and Manech Tête Noire. Through their respective actions (breed guidelines, selection programs, genetic dissemination, and technical and economic support), they play an essential role in ensuring the long-term sustainability of the dairy sheep sector, whose flagship quality products include Ossau-Iraty PDO cheese and Pyrénées milk-fed lamb PGI.
