With water resources becoming less available, finding solutions to sustain livestock farming and avoid conflicts over water use has become vital. To address this, the Adour-Garonne Livestock Watering Protocol has helped identify the livestock farming areas facing the greatest water-related risks. Solutions based on alternative resources or optimization measures can then be implemented, notably through the ABOIRE project, which makes it possible to test these approaches.
