Information
Having previously worked on alternatives to traditional Italian raygrass as a winter catch crop, our research now aims to refine the selection of cereals to be combined and also to assess the benefits of varietal selection within legume species. Varietal earliness, genetic diversity and fungal vectors are the various criteria for selecting and comparing the mixtures tested within the latest trial setups. The different soil and climate conditions and climatic variations between years have enabled us to highlight differences between species and thus refine the mixture to be planted according to specific objectives. Other questions remain unanswered but will be partially addressed in a new trial set to begin in autumn 2026.
