Established in 1998 as a public institution, the Conservatoire botanique national du Massif central works to inventory, conserve, and promote wild plants and fungi. It operates across ten departments of the Massif central (Limousin, Auvergne, Loire, Rhône, and Ardèche), collaborating with livestock farmers to raise awareness of wild flora and highlight its value in agricultural production.
